I LOVE L.A.

I love it....That about sums up my trip to Cally. When youve been hit with rain and thunderstorms for 2 weeks straight before the trip, its great to have beautiful weather when it doesnt rain and its nice and cool in the morning and at night. I dont think it ever reached over 80 degrees. If it wasnt so freakin expensive, I would live out there. Obviously the day we arrive there, it was my dad's hs reunion. It was fun for about an hour and after that, it got boring real quick. Meeting all these people that I had no clue who they were but they remembered me very well. Luckily my cousins were there that I did remember and my Uncle who bought us drinks, so we hung out with him.

What was very funny was where the reunion was being held at. It was held at the Hilton in Aneheim the weekend of the Anime Expo. Seeing all the kids dressed up in their anime and video game characters was interesting to see and crazy on how much I recognized who they were dressed up as. The kids were all over the place and just having a good time. Its a good thing we didnt stay at the Hilton, cause from what I heard they were causing alot of headaches for the people staying at the Hilton like my uncle and his wife. It was good day and a good start to a great trip.

Ill have more on my trip later but for now I gotta get back to the dreary rain.

Mid June Update

Its hot...Its humid...Its another hurricane season...Thats pretty much the news. Somehow I love it anyway. Probably cause Im 2 weeks away from going to the West Coast where instead of the heat, Ill have to deal with the smog. My G/F is in the Yukon enjoying heavenly weather. My next door neighbor is addicted to his video games, calling me every day to play with him which I dont mind if I didnt have to work so hard and come home tired. We got our trees cut in the backyard so we dont have to worry bout them falling on our house. Hopefully the other trees that are still around wont either. Later the house is gonna be re-modeled which means living either in a hotel or our next door neighbor's for awhile. I dunno when itll happen but soon Im guessing.

At work, I got volunteered to some Functionality stuff. They want me to fix any display that customers or employees break. Then I have to show them what not to do to make sure they dont break it again. Its amazing people that dont know how to turn on their tv or even plug it in. I get some training in Orlando which is cool. I like going down there whenever I can. We'll see how that goes.

Hey Im Back

I somehow remembered my password and decided to get back on. Lets see...what happened with me while I was gone. Well..Im supervisor in the inventory department for Best Buy. Its hard work and some of the management is questionable in their decision making but its a nice discount. My sis is goin to London for fall semester. My girlfriend and I spent a wonderful week in Orlando visiting Downtown Disney, Epcot and Gatorland. Of all the years Ive been here, Ive never visited Gatorland. It was fun though, excluding all the rain. Now she's going away to the West Coast to do a co-op job at a nice resort she wanted. She almost didnt get it, but Im glad it all worked out and she's goin on a road trip...6 months....I can make that no problem.

Its my dad's bday today, and I got him an mini Ipod and right now he's importing all his Cds on it...By the end of the night he'll have at least 300 songs. Myself, I had a rough day. Waking up at 5am cause my aunt decided to call at that time. Getting a puncture wound in my hand doing yardwork, and spilling Bar-b-que sauce on my shirt. Out of all the times I handled a screwdriver, the one time I accidentally let it slipped, I dont have my gloves on. My hand is ok, I didnt need stitches but I needed to update my tetanus shot. My whole left arm is numb and I cant close my fist all the way but its ok. Now everyone is gonna be asking what happened and all I can say is "I screwed myself."

4 More Years

So Bush starts another 4 year term. He has a very big responsibility to bring this nation back together. Im sure he'll have his doubters and such but what President didnt have those? Would you want a job that has people telling you what to do and no matter what you choose your gonna lose respect for it? Yeah, me neither.

Here in Jax, everyone is gearing up for the Super Bowl. Trying to make our city look as good as possible since everyone will see what the area is all about. Thats about all thats been happening here.

Other than that, the only news I got from here is me, my sister and my dad are all going to L.A. in July for my dad's high school reunion. We're also going to see some of my dad's relatives who I havent seen in ages and Im excited to go back to the West Coast. Its something Ive been looking for and we're also going to Vegas as well. I dunno what Ill be doing there but I definitely know I wont be coming home with no money.

You Got 2 Seconds to Make A Decision

Did you ever wonder how quick you can make decisions in everyday things? It usually takes 2 seconds to decide to make snap judgements. Say for example your driving down the road coming to a yellow light and you gotta decide if you want to beat it before it turns red or do what your supposed to do and slow down. Whatever your decision may be, it could affect you more than you know. Like say you beat the light and go on your merry way, you'll probably do it again and again and again without even thinking of what the possible effects it could have on your driving. It could even be disastrous.

I bring this up cause Ive been reading this book by Malcolm Gladwell called Blink and basically it deals with making quick decisions without even knowing it. Its very good and really lets you into what goes on in our heads and why we do what we do without us even knowing about it. It also shows how it sometimes can affect our lives in the long run. Its definitely worth a read if you ever get the chance, I highly recommend it. I read where the author of this book got his idea for it and he decided one day to grow out his hair. Well he grows out his hair and one day the police pulled him over because he fitted the description of a rapist in the area and the feature that pointed the police to the author was his long hair. Tell me that doesnt impact you on a small decision like personal hygiene.

Darkness

Are you afraid of the dark? When I was kid, I used to be...When I was living in D.C. we had a 2 story house and i slept on the first floor while everyone was on the 2nd and at night I had to have a night light at all times. My room had a window that looked out at the backyard and it was somewhat pretty big and there were no fences between houses in the back at the time and there was no lighting back there so you couldnt see nothing if you wanted to look out there. I always thought I saw shadows of people back there and sometimes got freaked out because of it. I only mention this cause I saw that movie, Darkness, and it just reminded me of it. Of course the movie was horrible so it made my fear of darkness seem dumb. Now if any light creeps into my room at night, I have trouble sleeping. It needs to be pitch black darkness. The only thing now I still hate to this day is cockroaches and living in FL. doesnt help me get over it.

Happy New Year

2004 says goodbye while 2005 ushers itself in. Its been an interesting year and I learned a few things that I didnt know before about life. 2004 started off really rough and somehow was able to manage my sanity till the end. Im glad its over and ready to push onto bright and better things for the new year. I was able to start off the new year on a great note by going to the Gator Bowl and watching FSU beat W. Virginia. Even though we sat at the last row at the very top of the stadium, it was nice being there. It was a great view.

Hey anybody asked for your number or aol screen name that you dont really wanna talk to or dont even like? I just found out 2 great sites that a friend of mine told me about to help you out. Rejectionhotline.com and laim.name are the most ingenous sites ever to grace the web. Ive never had to use it before and its never been used on me but its kinda cool. You give them a fake number or fake screen name and if you use the contact number or screename it gives a message saying...this person gave you a fake number cause they dont like you blah blah blah. And you dont have to deal with them anymore. Great Stuff I tell you.
